In 1995, I was one of the first in Denver to be certified to teach the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. GYROTONIC® exercise is the best way I have found to bring strength, fluidity and balance to the body. The specific circular and spiraling motions, along with intentional breathing patterns, encourage freedom and joy in movement. Also in 1995, I received certification from Polestar Pilates to teach all aspects of its fitness and rehabilitation programs.

Over the next ten years, I worked in two of Denver’s premiere studios with people of all fitness levels – from people who were new to exercise to high-performance athletes looking to gain an edge in their sport through increased balance, strength and flexibility.
Because many of my clients suffered from one form of pain or another, I was looking for a
bridge between rehabilitation and fitness. I learned about Greg Roskoff’s Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT), a thorough system that identifies and treats muscle imbalances.

After intensive training, I was certified as a MAT Specialist in 2005. I opened my own studio, Breathing in Motion, in 2005. In 2009, I achieved certification in GYROKINESIS® exercise, the floor work for the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, and in 2012, I added a new piece of GYROTONIC® equipment to my studio, giving me even more tools to serve my clients. Continuing education is important to me and I complete several higher-level courses/workshops each year. Advanced courses in GYROTONIC® exercise qualify me to apply and adapt the system to address conditions including scoliosis, shoulder girdle dysfunction, osteoporosis and pelvic girdle/low back imbalances.

Master courses in the Muscle Activation Techniques curriculum include classes in foot function, upper and lower body, neurophysiology and trunk and spine. Using both GYROTONIC® and MAT techniques has proved to be a winning combination to address my client’s limitations that cause pain and increase their functionality. Movement is the sign of life. Breath is the most fundamental movement. Combining intentional movement with intentional breathing can open a person to new discoveries of power, endurance, efficiency and ease. That is one’s movement potential. It is my goal to facilitate a person’s discovery of that movement potential. I work hard to be attentive to and respectful of each person’s experiences and goals, supporting them where they are and giving them tools to expand their movement experience. It is my honor and pleasure to work with individuals on this journey.

Whatever your fitness level, I can help you discover your movement potential.
